New Blog Post

18th November

This week I have been looking at learning in literacy in all classes. I have seen a wide range of work. Class 3 were displaying an excellent understanding of tenses in grammar work, with Year 6 using and applying the progressive tense. In Class 1 pupils were investigating rhyming in limericks and preparing to write their own. To be able to rhyme is a super skill; it can help pupils spell words they don't know and build confidence in pupils playing with language for effect. In Class 2 pupils have been exploring all the different ways speech can be written and have created some super playscripts. They showed through their writing that they understood organisation and stage directions, as well as punctuation. As I've said before, it is a real privelege to track the progress of our pupils from Reception to Year 6.
