World Book Day
Yesterday, we had the most wonderful time celebrating World Book Day. The costumes were amazing, even better than last year. Our parents are indeed a very creative bunch - thank you for all your support and hard work. After I shared my favourite story of "The Queen's Knickers" by Nicholas Allen during collective worship, all classes set off on bookish adventures. Throughout the day the children had an opportunity to make their very own books. So many skills were used, alongside a helping of resilience to make some marvellous books. I have asked the children to take them home and fill them with writing of their choice and then bring them back to school to share with their peers. Lots of children enjoyed the 'Where's Wally' hunt and there were many who found all twelve hidden around the school. Some of us also enjoyed a very relaxed lunch in the library, reading over our packed lunches. It was a fabulous day all round! There is a world book day website full of activities, games and recommendations that is well worth a visit and don't forget to use your book tokens - the quicker you get to the shops the bigger the choice you have of their special release £1 books. Happy reading!
