Welcome to Class 3 – home for Years 5 and 6.

In Class 3, we continue to grow as independent learners, building curiosity and confidence as we prepare for the next stage of our learning journey. Our Christian Value this term is Respect & Reverence.

Our topic this term is: Space Oddity – Our Place in the Universe.
We’ll explore the wonders of our solar system, from the movement of the Earth, Sun and Moon to the history of space exploration. With bespoke cosmology lessons from Dash Astro and a special project from the European Space Agency, pupils will design and lead their own Junior Astronaut Training Programme.

In English, we’ll write news reports inspired by women in space and create our own science-fiction adventures, supported by our class texts Space Oddity and Phoenix. In maths, we’ll go deeper into problem-solving and reasoning tasks each week, applying our knowledge in different real-life scenarios.

This term also includes a day trip to Crucial Crew, where pupils will take part in interactive workshops to learn how to stay safe in a wide range of situations.
