In Class 3, we are continuing to develop our independence with learning and personal responsibilities. Our daily routines and learning tasks give us opportunities to practice this in a variety of ways, and the transferrable nature of the skill will enable us to become more independent and responsible people. This term's Christian Value is Perseverance- a skill which will be vital as we continue our journey through primary school.
Our topic this term is: Vicious Vikings
A hugely fascinating topic with historical, cultural and geographical contexts, we will timeline the Viking era, as well as learning about the beliefs they held, the ambitions they had and the impact they had on the United Kingdom and further afield.
In English, we’ll write exciting action sequences, with an aim of using a range of sentence openers and interesting descriptive vocabulary. From an informative perspective, we will write in the style of a newspaper article, looking at the layout, language and aims of one. We will take inspiration from the novel "Viking Boy" by Tony Bradman, as well as a variety of non-fiction texts.
In maths, as we continue our fractions topic, we will also be covering decimals up to 2 and 3 places, as well as aiming to master our times tables and other multiplication strategies.
There are no trips planned currently, however should this change I will communicate this at the earliest opportunity
