Class 1 - R, Y1 & Y2
Class 1 is home to our Reception and Key Stage One children (years 1 and 2). We are lucky enough to have the space of two classrooms. One classroom that is slightly more formal for Key Stage One and the other that enables a play based curriculum for our Reception children, and also for children that may benefit from the learning through play approach.
We have a large, wonderfully resourced Early Years garden for children to explore, develop physical skills and consolidate their learning on a large scale.
This half-term:
The overall topic for Class 1 this half-term is ‘Once Upon a Time’ and ‘Have you been on a journey?’ Our topic-based themes allow cross-curricula teaching to engage the children and books are used to capture children’s interests and curiosity.
For more information about our topic this half term, please see our curriculum overview at the bottom of the page.
