Spring is on the way!
Despite Storm Doris, I managed to get out into the garden for a short while on Thursday with Class 3 and we were delighted to see signs of spring. Daffodils adorn the shed and catkins and crocus could be seen quivering in the strong winds. As I arrive and leave school in daylight, this quickly becomes my favourite half term, where all the hard toil of the winter starts to bear fruit in classrooms as much as in the school garden.
We welcome two new members of staff to our teaching team this half term. Mrs McElroy (our music teacher) will be teaching in Class 2, whilst poor Miss Brown recovers from breaking her ankle and Mrs Reeve is teaching Year 3 in maths and literacy until the end of the summer term. We are really pleased to have two such strong practitioners join our team.
Music on Tuesdays will now be taught by myself and I will take over working with the choir until Miss Brown returns to work. The choir are busy preparing for the Farlingaye Pyramid Concert which will take place on Wednesday 29th March at Farlingaye High School. Tickets and more details will be available soon.
I am really pleased to be able to announce that the Easter Egg Hunt will be going ahead after all, thanks to all the parents who attended the meeting yesterday and we have a new OSLOF committee established. As a school, we are indebted to the voluntary work of these people, who really do help make a difference to the experiences and opportunities of your children.
