Orford CEVA Primary School

Orford

CEVA Primary School

Collective worship

We hold a collective worship session every day. It is usually held by our teachers or the Year 6 collective worship team following our term's theme, celebrating a courageous advocate and/or highlighting a current issue or religious festival.

Celebration Assembly

On Fridays we incorporate Celebration Assembly into our worship session, to which families and friends are invited. One of the classes will show some of the work they have been doing in class. Certificates are awarded to children in all classes who have gained 'Star of the Week' and 'Chef of the Week'. There are additional curriculum certificates for reading, maths, writing, humanties, sports and being helpful amongst other things.

No Outsiders

Once a week, Collective Worship follows the "No Outsiders: All Different, All Welcome" ethos and plans - exposing children to a wide range of diverse individuals, groups, ideas and movements. More information can be found here.

Visitors

Once a week we are incredibly fortunate to have members of our local parish lead our collective worship. They usually share a bible story and follow our term's value but with with their own ideas and flair.
We are very grateful to everyone who gives up their time freely to enhance our worship:

Rev Giles Tulk - Vicar at St Bartholomew's Church, Orford. Usually accomanied by Reggie the dog and Benedict the teddy bear

Guy Marshall - Lay reader at St Bartholomew's Church, Orford

Jo Cracknell Just 42 - a Christian charity and the only open-access youth provider in 200 square miles of rural Suffolk

Dave Rushbrook - Baptist minister for Sudbourne and Tunstall

The team from Open the Book  - fun storytelling resources for primary school collective worship

We respect a parent/carer's right to withdraw their child from Collective Worship should they choose.
