Orford CEVA Primary School

Orford

CEVA Primary School

Returning to or Starting School

We know that starting school in September can be an exciting or anxious time any year, but that some children or parents might find a bit of extra support useful, following lockdown.

Staff at school are always willing to arrange a time to discuss things with you, although you may find some of the resources below useful too - particularly before children come back to join us.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/collections/starting-primary-school/1   There are lots of links and other information on starting primary school in this BBC Bitesize link.

https://nipinthebud.org/information-films/tips-for-returning-to-school/  This is a useful film for parents, from a Clinical Psychologist, about how best to support children returning to school.

https://www.traumainformedschools.co.uk/images/preparing_your_child_for_the_return_to_school.jpg   This poster has some good, quick tips for parents about supporting children returning to school.

In addition, there are some PDFs below, which are worth looking at.

Suffolk County Council have set up a new dedicated telephone line for parents of children with SEND, where you will be able to ask any queries you may want to raise with them:  0345 606 6172   Messages will be answered within 2 working days.
